HEALTHIER FOODS AND SPECIAL DIETS - a Royal Institute of Public Health one day accredited course, facilitated by BGA associate, Vanessa McMinn - a qualified Dietitian.  Course content will include:

  • The relationship between a balanced diet and good health
  • How to preserve the highest nutritional value of food
  • The principles behind a balanced diet

ISMA (International Stress Management Association) INTRODUCTION TO STRESS AWARENESS - this course will be facilitated by Beth Gibb and Donna Haughian, both accredited stress consultants.  Course content will include:

  • The 'Biology/Science of stress
  • Risks to health
  • Coping strategies
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Developing a business strategic approach to managing stress at work and adapt into a workable Action Plan

The aim of this training is for individuals to be develop knowledge and skills to run introductory awareness sessions within the workplace - an 'in house' educator who will be able to cascade their learning throughout the workplace and consequently be able to support and signpost peers to practical sources of help.  Presentation skills training will also be provided and a post course individual visit to delegates for mentoring and support.

WORKING WITH THE HSE MANAGEMENT STANDARDS: managing the causes of work-related stress.  

Course content includes:

  • Concise information on what stress is and the consequences
  • A step-by-step approach to using the Management Standards - every participant will receive a copy of the resource
  • How to adapt for the most positive and productive results
