AN INTRODUCTION TO STRESS AWARENESS

(TRAIN THE TRAINER FOR 'IN HOUSE' SESSIONS)

 Course content will include:

  • The 'Biology/Science of stress
  • Risks to health
  • Coping strategies
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Developing a business strategic approach to managing stress at work and adapt into a workable Action Plan

The aim of this two day training programme is for individuals to develop knowledge and skills to run introductory awareness sessions within the workplace - an 'in house' educator who will be able to cascade their learning throughout the workplace and consequently be able to support and signpost peers to practical sources of help.  An introductory presentation with resource file and worksheets will be provided.

'IN HOUSE' COURSES AVAILABLE:

Employers are being urged to pay even closer attention to their employees' health and well being in the current climate or face the prospect of increased sickness absence.  To avoid time and money spent travelling, yet staff being able to avail of 'Time Outs' for education and awareness sessions, can have a significant positive impact on staff morale, communications and the general working atmosphere. 

  • The duration for the following 'in house' interactive sessions is half a day - am or pm, to suit need. 
  • All delegates will be given a workbook for each interactive session attended
  • An end of course evaluation will be consolidated verbatim and forwarded by email to a named individual

STRESS AWARENESS / MANAGEMENT - differentiate between pressure and stress and recognise the signs and symptoms of stress in self and others

'TIME IS MONEY' - be aware of strategies to manage Time in a productive manner, without raising stress levels.  Do you want to LIVE TO WORK or WORK TO LIVE?  Your decision!

'MOOD FOODS' - How does food affect mood?  Specific foods can be associated with anxiety, cravings, depression, insomnia and mood swings.  Learn how to avail of a healthier diet to avoid the negative impacts.  This session is facilitated by Vanessa McMinn, a qualified Dietitian.
